Working on the Oast Veranda
In the foreground pokes of hops are being stacked ready for drying. These pokes have either come from a picking machine or hand pickers in the hop garden.
In the background on the right hand side, the bagging operation for the adjoining picking machine can be seen.. The picking machine is the building in the background with the semi-circular roof and the hops are brought up on a conveyor belt to be put into pokes. On the veranda rail empty pokes can be seen ready to put on to the bagging machine.
